NIPUN Full Form

NIPUN stands for National Initiative for Proficiency in Reading with Understanding and Numeracy. It is a mission launched by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, in July 2021. The main objective of the mission is to ensure that all children in India attain foundational literacy and numeracy by the end of Grade 3 by the year 2026-27.

The mission focuses on five key areas:

Language development: This includes developing children's ability to read, write, and speak fluently in their mother tongue and English.
Numeracy development: This includes developing children's understanding of numbers, operations, and basic mathematical concepts.
Foundational skills: This includes developing children's ability to think critically, solve problems, and learn effectively.
Teacher training: This includes providing teachers with the training and resources they need to effectively teach foundational literacy and numeracy.
Assessment: This includes developing and implementing effective assessment tools to track children's progress.
